Prevent Elder Abuse

Elder Abuse can occur anywhere. Any form of mistreatment that results in the harm of or loss to an older person can be defined as elder abuse including:

• Abandonment

• Emotional Abuse

• Financial Exploitation

• Neglect and Self-Neglect

• Physical Abuse

• Sexual Abuse

Preventing elder abuse is a top priority of M4A. We offer educational presentations at no charge and have resources available to the public on elder abuse and elder abuse prevention.

To report elder abuse, contact the Alabama Department of Human Services, Adult Protection

Services at (800) 458-7214 or your local County DHR office. Reports can also be made to local law enforcement. Reports can be made anonymously.
